Cafe Corazon was founded in the Fellowship Hall of Travis Park Church on Sunday, March 28th, 1999. A group of young disciples had the radical idea of feeding people every Sunday morning and the spirit and practice of unconditional love and justice in action was born. Corazon Ministries San Antonio continues strong 25 years later with nearly 30 employees and an engaged community of volunteers and supporters. The mission has expanded far beyond the Café Corazon at Travis Park Church and into the Grace Lutheran Church where we operate a Resource Hub that includes a Day Center, Harm Reduction, Outreach, and Health Services. Deborah’s House, our sober living home, welcomes 13 women at any given time to continue their sobriety journey and work to find self-sufficiency and peace. We work alongside other critical homeless response system partners in our community to ensure our unhoused have the services they need while we work them through our community resources to a place of more stable living and housing.
What we do
Founded in 1999, Corazon San Antonio operates in the heart of downtown San Antonio serving our homeless and marginalized neighbors by providing a day center and resource hub, medical clinic, harm reduction outreach, housing case management, hot meals, clothing, warm showers, hygiene items, access to recovery groups and spiritual services. We serve over 40,000 hot, nutritious meals per year and rely on over 75 enthusiastic volunteers and 40 staff each week to provide unconditional love and life-giving support to our neighbors.
